Kidrobot in the 2K8
Monday, January 7, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordKidRobot has announced their toy releases for the coming weeks in January. While it may be a fairly light month in terms of the number of releases, many have been anticipating the Tristan Eaton Dunny and news of the Mini Munny figures posted above (due out on the 24th) has customizers foaming at the mouth.

The big news of course though, is the Tag Team Dunny from Tristan Eaton. As previously mentioned here on The Evil Collector, Tristan will be signing his figures for fans at Kidrobot Miami and Kidrobot NY. Each color will be available at retail on the 17th, limited to 1,500 pieces per color. There is no mention of a chase figure, meaning $100 will get you both colors guaranteed, if you’re so inclined.

January 10th sees the release of Zoomies, a new mini series revolving around caffeine fueled cartoon styled racers. Not to be confused with the bloodsucking skateboarding chain, Zoomies strike me as the reincarnation of Sonic the Hedgehog in a universe dominated by Starbucks and Micro Machines. Maybe that’s a stretch, but when has KidRobot been known for being grounded anyway? Each Zoomies figure comes blind boxed, so you may have to burn through a couple cases or trade with friends to complete the full set of 17.

Not enough Munny for you? Can’t get enough mini series to collect? Look no further than the next series of Munny Zipper Pulls. Releasing the same day as the Zoomies on the 10th, the simple color schemes leave you a blank canvas to make your own, or leave it untouched and allow the intriguing sculpts to speak for themselves. 18 figures make up the set, here’s hoping you don’t get stuck with too many carrots!
