Recognizing the ties that bind club football, Air Max 1’s, and tiger stripe camouflage, Nike has put together what is being called the Friendly Futbol Pack of four different Air Max 1’s. The above pair has seen a recent, slightly ahead of schedule, stateside release, with the rest of the pack detailed after the jump. I couldn’t make this stuff up.

The worst part about this pack is, quite simply, that it is a pack in the first place. The designs are all fairly strong, so why the need for some goofy, barely relevant tie in? Both the above and below pairs have reached Asian shops, with no clear confirmation of a US release, although all signs point to yes.

Royal blue patent leather and a cement print heel counter just screams header into the upper 90, ya know? I’m not even normally an Air Max 1 kinda guy, as I prefer the sharper lines of the Air Max 90, but these sneakers manage to walk the tightrope of flair and sensibility that often topples to the ground without a net to catch them.

Want to flaunt more than usual? Wear shorts or skinnier jeans and let the heel counter glory in all four sneakers fly. Need to tone it down, Roll that cuff down and you have aclean shoe with ever so slight color accents. GOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
