Just in time for the upcoming Brazilian Carnival, Nike has released these eye popping Air Max 90’s.  These are a quickstrike release, so much like the Carnival season itself, it will be over before you know it.  Unlike the Carnival events though, I can promise you these sneakers won’t make it burn when you pee.

Looks like someone finally started listening over at Nike.  We’re finally seeing a number of Air Max 90 with some semblance of a mesh toe.  This needs to be a continued trend this year, please Nike, make this happen.  Some of the detailed shots suggest this isn’t a traditional athletic mesh, but it’s a step in the right direction.  I’m not sure how the plaid laces fit into the scheme of things, but I won’t complain.  You could throw any number of laces in these suckers and use the plaid joints to resurrect a forgotten monochrome pair in your collection.

There’s also some interesting detailing on the mudguard.  I’m not sure the rhyme or reason, but it seems pretty tonal so it shouldn’t be a deterrent if you’re not into weird geometry.  It looks like there might be some kind of pearl coat as well, which is a definite plus in my opinion.  You can also get a better idea of the mesh used in this shot.

And check out that sole!  It’s a shame few people will get to see it.  This really completes the package for me though, as there’s no way to make this work on the upper.  These 90’s will be available in stateside quickstrike accounts soon.  Keep an eye out!
