Kaws Force One
Monday, February 4, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordGraffiti legend turned designer toy mogul turned lifestyle brand innovator Kaws can add a new achievement to an already lengthy resume - Nike collaborator. Having worked with many popular brands, including Visvim and Vans, over the past few years, it seemed only a matter of time until the Swoosh came calling. Kaws has marked up a sleek black pair of Air Force Ones with his trademark X pattern. How one manages to trademark a letter of the alphabet is beyond me, but it’s definitely become just one of the Kaws calling cards.

These Air Forces would do just fine without the Kaws name tacked on with the clever use of neon throughout the shoe. Sometimes two tones are all you really need. The X’s all over the shoe leave no room for debate though, this is definitely the work of Kaws.

As much as I love translucent soles, it’s a shame there isn’t a way to make them more timeless. I can see this sneaker staying in style for years to come, but the sole might cloud up long before then. Nonetheless, it makes for a nice effect while it lasts. Both the bottom of the sole and the insole feature the Kaws “07 printed on them.

As of now, there’s no word on how or even if these shoes will be released. So for now, we’ll just have to cross our fingers for more crossed hatches. Thanks to Korean Tom Cruise for the images.
