To commemorate their NBA championships during their 1970’s, Puma has created three different pairs of Baskets, one each for the Knicks, Celtics, and the Sonics. Judging by the released images of the Knicks pair pictured above, the shoes feature team colors and the team’s city skyline. The logo embossing also incorporates the city name in lieu of the traditional model name beneath the Puma logo.

I’m pretty excited about the color blocking on this shoe. By using the same color on the upper beneath the stripe, it dramatically alters a very tried and true style into almost a completely different style. I could take or leave the skyline, but it’s certainly not so much of a distraction that it ruins the shoe. With that said, the last I checked, five other teams won the title in the 70’s, so where is that Milwaukee Bucks pair? These shoes are available now at Puma stores, as well as Shoebiz, Sportie LA, and Karmaloop right now.
