It’s Not Easy Being Supreme
Thursday, March 13, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordAside from their clothing, Supreme always provides a strong assortment of decks, bags, and other accessories and this spring is no different. The Kermit/Terry Richardson collaboration is definitely the most talked about aspect of the new line. As weird as it is to refer to a skate deck from a skate shop as an accessory, something tells me that more of these decks will be hanging on walls rather than riding on them. Regardless, it speaks volumes to the clout (or balls) Supreme has in the industry to work with a Jim Henson creation. Much debate has been made about the relevance of a muppet to a company like Supreme, but seeing as these decks flew off the e-shelves of the online shop on Monday, it’s pretty plain the concept resonates with enough people. Check out the season’s bags and other accessories after the jump!

Pissed off at the dude who just cut you off? Storming out of your job/apartment because your boss/girl is driving you nuts? This is the perfect reminder of what to think. Definitely a rad way to throw people off and keep ‘em confused. The high quality leather and general design aesthetic seems to serve as a bit of a middle finger to high end design firms who would sell a keychain like this with a more bording design for way too much cash.

This keychain has a bit more utility for those spur of the moment cookouts and late night gatherings that spawn outta nowhere in the summer. Meanwhile, some interesting web belt color schemes are complimented by leather accents to class things up a bit. While not quite traditional colors, the webbing is fairly reminiscent of nautical belt styles from the 80’s and early 90’s.

With the smashing success of their 23rd backpack last go ’round, Supreme had their work cut out with their follow up this season. And while I can’t say the boxy style is as stylistically appealing, the functionality appears to be as good as better. With black and sand color schemes as well as a mountaineering inspired print, each of the color choices is solid. Here’s hoping this bag has something more substantial in terms of a laptop sleeve. The duffle also seems to be an easy choice yet again and has room for just about anything you might need during your travels. Now the fanny…sorry, WAIST BAG, on the other hand. I just can’t endorse this or see who would even want one. Sure it has a certain utility for a climber or middle aged tourist, but are those people even remotely part of the Supreme demographic? I just don’t get it.

In what seems to be a continuing trend, Gabriel Urist has designed a sterling silver truck pendant for Supreme. This is a really interesting piece, and while I think I prefer the skate wheel pendant from last season, I definitely wouldn’t mind adding this to my collection as well. With that said, this will definitely set you back a pretty penny, as Urist pieces don’t come cheap, especially with the Supreme name attached as well.
