Undefeated Wraps It Up For Project Red
Sunday, April 6, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordLeave it to Undefeated to revamp a pair of Chuck Taylors into one of the most exciting Converse sneakers in some time. As part of the Product Red charity program, Converse got together with Undefeated, who in turn reached out to designer Geoff McFetridge to create these shoes and some accompanying gear. The resulting No Raw Dogs release is layered with meaning and lends itself perfectly with the history and culture surrounding an iconic shoe.

There’s no denying the tongue in cheek graphics are what will immediately draw attention to these shoes. Any way you slice the message, it’s humorously executed with the slogan and graphics complementing each other perfectly. Little details such as the rubberized Undefeated stamp on the sole take things even further in making this a memorable release.

As if you need another reminder, the insoles feature similar graphics seen elsewhere on the shoe. Sure, passers by won’t notice this little detail, but it’s a nice little nod for owners of the shoe to appreciate when they throw them on. Or pull those bad boys out and display them with the rest of the shoe in your house. Shoes are certainly meant to be worn, but art like this is also meant to be displayed!

The accompanying tee reiterates the graphical message yet again. The pinstriping really completes the look. My only complaint here is that it’s pretty tiresome to see a shoe with the same exact design. It’d be nice to see a related tee that wouldn’t be quite so corny to wear along with the shoes. Both the shoes, tee, and a Bearbrick set featuring the same aesthetic are available now from Undefeated.
