Patta, Alife, and Rockwell - It’s A RAP
Thursday, April 24, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordParra is straight blowin’ up to the point that I can’t even keep up anymore. Wrap your head around this one - his clothing company Rockwell got together with the notorious New Yorkers at Alife and Dutch retail icons, Patta to create the RAP. The RAP uses the Alife Everybody Mid as the base model but proceeds to put little tweaks all over the shoe. I can’t say enough about the way Parra blends old and new to create such exciting work, and this release is just another testament to that. Check out some more detailed shots below.

These might be a little too Smurfville for some folks, but if you can get past that (and you should) there is a lot to like here. Accented blue aglets on the laces with red and white metal eyestays. Those eyestays rest against perforated material, while the tongue appears to be made of ballistic nylon with a custom tag featuring modified logos from each participant in the collaboration. There also looks to be some kind of print on the interior of the shoe, but as of right now, that is just a tease.

Dutch residents can look forward to the RAP release at Patta this coming Tuesday the 29th, while North Americans will get theirs on May 3rd at all three Alife locations. Just do me a favor and save me a pair.
