As May starts to wind it’s way down, Kidrobot has announced their upcoming releases for June. As usual there’s a few mini figure series, like Mist’s Debilz pictured above. This 11 figure series incorporates the distinct style of Mist onto unique sculpts. Look for this series to arrive in stores June 12th and check down below for the rest of the June releases.
Reebok has gotten together with one of the most innovative boutiques in America, Boston’s own Bodega, on a pair of Omni Pump Lites. Dubbed the Escape Pack, these shoes are the center piece of a $200 package themed after those super sketchy, super cheap, get what you pay for Chinatown bus companies. These shoes feature a route map around the ankle that should be pretty familiar to those of you who want nothing to do with NYC parking but still want to get there on a budget.

Never ones to shy away from controversy, Mishka has gotten together with famed photographer Richard Kern for an upcoming collection of tees. Known for his provocative photography and film work, Kern explores perversion, violence, and sexuality in an incredibly up front and often times shocking manner. By that I mean, be very aware that there are naked ladies after the jump and I’m not responsible if you get in trouble with your boss, your girl, or your mom.
Alright so long before Lost or Battlestar Galactica, The X-Files was the sci-fi show that you could admit to watching and still be able to make friends. Now if you’re anything like me, as rad as the ongoing conspiracy was, later seasons got way too bogged down with the confusing details and the infrequency with which that plot developed. No, the real strength of this show were the affectionately named Monster of the Week episodes. So after the series wrapped up and an initial theatrical release closed the book on the overarching plot, it seems only fitting to give those weekly monsters their shot at the big screen.
Luke Chueh recently opened his latest solo exhibition at the Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica. Entitled She’s My Heroin(e), the showing addresses concepts of addiction in his trademark style. Chueh may be unfamiliar to some of you, but in the modern pop art (or whatever buzz word you want to throw at design/toy/illustrative cultural movement) scene he is practically a household name.
