Sean Cliver And Supreme Create Decks, Piss Off Squares

Supreme has never been known to shy away from controversy. So it’s almost surprising that it’s taken this long for them to work with renowned skateboard artist Sean Cliver, famous for very in your face graphics that were sure to tick off your parents. This dude has created memorable decks for Powell Peralta, World Industries, Birdhouse, and Hook-Ups. Now Cliver has created two decks and corresponding tees for Supreme set to release this week.

This Dick and Jane parody is probably a lot like a typical Sunday night from your childhood. Minus the sacrificial baby and the robes of course. Perfectly normal, perfectly healthy. This graphic is jussssst offensive enough to ruffle feathers without completely alienating you from your peers. Now the Halloween graphic below on the other hand….

So yeah, there’s definitely some commentary about the masks we as Americans tend to wear going on here. And yeah, it’s supposed to make people uncomfortable. Problem here is, this might speak a little too strongly without any hint for the less subversive people you’ll come across that, no, you’re not really down with hating other races or sexual orientations. Sure, it’s just a t shirt or a skate deck, and while I’m generally on board with keeping people guessing, there are certain issues that I’d rather not seem ambiguous about. The quality of the design itself is great, but this ain’t for me.

Look for this gear to drop in NY and LA today, online on the 12th, and internationally on the 13th.
