Once in a while, it’s nice to find out about a shoe at it’s actual release. Months of anticipation for a hyped up pair can often lead to either a) a somewhat empty “ok, now what?” feeling when you finally snag your pair or b) the inevitable disappointment of missing out on them due to inflated prices and demand. So with all of that said, I’m pretty amped on these checkered Half Cabs that just dropped at In4mation.

The bright green accents coupled with the taxi cab checkers make these a great summer shoe. Something about the checked pattern gives a retro vibe that is sure to appeal to Vans collectors as well, and the suede panels will make them great for skating.

I haven’t seen these anywhere else, although I’m sure they’ll be hitting other spots in the coming weeks. Perhaps Vans will have some more surprises up their sleeve as well.
