File this one under bands who should have broken up a long time ago trying to stay relevant. After a couple really terrible albums that appealed to your chubby goth little sister, Alkaline Trio appear to be opting out of the Hot Topic crowd and moving down the mall to Pac Sun with appearances on The Hills and this new collaboration with Nike’s exxxxxxxxtreme lifestyle 6.0 division for landlocked dudes buying surf gear at a chain store. No confirmation as to whether or not these will be packaged with black nail polish and bottled angst, but check out some more photos below.

So according to Matt Skiba, the latest graduate of the Davey Havok school of makeup and lyricism, these Cush’s (seriously? Cush?) were done up in red and black in honor of their hometown Chicago Bulls. Really? So all those years with the dark imagery and red accents was sending out love for the Bulls? And apparently this dude is now “into sneakers”. At least he isn’t claiming that he “was always” into sneakers, like some other slightly suspect singers have recently that Skiba may or may not have recently collaborated with. I mean, I don’t know these dudes personally so I could be wrong, but it was always Chucks and Vans up until a couple years ago at best.

Please tell me this is the actual box. At least then it will excuse the terrible design execution. Oh! Another play on soul/sole! I just can’t wait for these to hit Jack’s on the 27th along with a messenger bag. They’ll see a wider release later on, so if you can’t bear to support another identical Zumiez two towns over, just sit tight.
