Keith Hufnagel has released a preview on his blog of some upcoming Huf sunglasses. There’s not a lot of info beyond the images themselves, but it looks like we can expect at least two styles. The above picture suggests one style will be in a tortoise shell or some kind of brown color scheme with the iconic H placed on the frame near the lens. Check out the other potential style down below.

A Tribe Called Starks

Friday, April 11th, 2008

20080410fstarks_main.jpg

They’ve done it again folks. Starks has knocked another one out of the park and continues to remain a step ahead with their creative shoe lace designs. This A Tribe Called Quest design is a perfect nod to one of the most important hip hop groups of the 90’s. Sure, this pattern has been seen all over (literally) tees from a wide variety of companies, but I’ve always felt that was overkill. Now I have the opportunity to show my love for the Tribe in a more subtle, sophisticated way, and if you’re anything like me, you should do the same.

Japanese art phenom Takashi Murakami has brought his wares to the Brooklyn Museum for a retrospective exhibition. The massive installation revisits older work dating back over 15 years, which allows new fans of his Superflat styling a rare opportunity to see some earlier work they might never experience otherwise.

It’s Not Easy Being Supreme

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

20080312fsupacc_main.jpg

Aside from their clothing, Supreme always provides a strong assortment of decks, bags, and other accessories and this spring is no different. The Kermit/Terry Richardson collaboration is definitely the most talked about aspect of the new line. As weird as it is to refer to a skate deck from a skate shop as an accessory, something tells me that more of these decks will be hanging on walls rather than riding on them. Regardless, it speaks volumes to the clout (or balls) Supreme has in the industry to work with a Jim Henson creation. Much debate has been made about the relevance of a muppet to a company like Supreme, but seeing as these decks flew off the e-shelves of the online shop on Monday, it’s pretty plain the concept resonates with enough people. Check out the season’s bags and other accessories after the jump!

Kicking Kashi Flavor

Friday, February 8th, 2008

20080105fkash_main.jpg

Sneakers and jewels have been a part of urban fashion since Hip Hop’s inception, but only recently have the two worlds collided. Alan Kashi, a 26 year-old jeweler, who went from New York to Pittsburgh to make custom jewels had a heavy-hand if not pioneering, in this movement of weaving iced out medallions and Cuban links through laces.

The movement led Kashi to his own manufacturing plant, Kashi Kicks. Approaching 300 styles, many of which sold out, this thriving designer sneaker company has caught attention of everybody from George Clinton to DJ Khaled. Get a sense of this fashion phenomenon and the visionary behind as The Evil Collector kicks it with Kashi.

I Love The 90’s - Quickstrike Edition

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

20080121famax_main.jpg

This pair of Quickstrike Air Max 90’s has started to make the rounds at shops worldwide. As far as I know, there’s no concept to these shoes besides making a simple, classy Air Max 90. The leather quality on much of the upper is a bit of a step up from the standard leather Nike has used (and uses on some panels on this shoe) lately. Some more shots after the jump.
