Mishka recently took part in the opening reception for Kaiju Invades NYC at the illustrious Toy Tokyo. As part of the event, they created a special shirt originally slated to only be available at the show itself. But after a crazy amount of requests, Mishka allocated a small number of the shirts to their online shop. Featuring one of the most detailed illustrations I’ve seen on a Mishka shirt, I can understand the demand. I’m a Large if anyone is so inclined!

STRANGEco officially released the Vivisect Playset to retailers this week. The eight piece minifigure set is curated by Luke Chueh, who also created the Mugs Bunny figure pictured above. While the series only consists of eight figures, there are 7 chase and 5 artist exclusive colorways for a total of 20 figures in the set. We have pictures and details on the artists after the jump.

I Am The Walrus

Here’s a look at the Upper Playground Walrus as interpreted by into a 7″ vinyl figure by Greg “Craola” Simkins. This figure, released towards the end of 2007, is incredibly detailed for a vinyl sculpt and gives the Upper Playground mascot some much needed personality.

Whether or not you’re into his style and technique, there’s no denying his hustle. He has managed to segue wall scrawling into a gallery setting and worked with a variety of respected skate companies along the way.

Few people have had even half the impact on the American cultural landscape as Stan Lee. As a creator to pretty much every Marvel Comics character that matters (sorry, Typeface) that you can think of, it’s hard to imagine a world without his genius. It should go without saying then, that his influence on modern artists is immeasurable. Steve Powers, perhaps better known to many of you as graffiti legend Espo, has followed the footsteps of some of his contemporaries and made the transition to renowned gallery artist. He currently is showing a collection of his work in the Morris Gallery at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and just today released Steve Powers is a Studio Gangster, which chronicles some of his work over the last five years.
