Burn Rubber

When you walk into Burn Rubber, a sneaker shop outside of Detroit, you wouldn’t think that the store hadn’t had any new inventory for six months before this past February. The boutique’s walls are decked with colorful, rare name brand sneakers, and clothing from the likes of exclusive companies like 3Sixteen, 10 Deep, and Crooks & Castles.

But the store’s new owners, Roland Coit and Rick Williams, have made the most of their time since taking over the shop earlier this year.

“We just wanted to take it to the next level,” Coit says of their aspirations while taking over the new shop.

M.I.A. Skateshop

There’s one premiere spot on the sun-drenched streets of Miami, where local skaters go to fulfill their shopping needs. Tucked away just off the corner of Washington Avenue and 9th Street is M.I.A. Skate Shop, a small store bursting at the seams with quality merchandise. Since 2003, M.I.A. has kept skaters, sneakerheads and everyone in between decked out in the items they desire. From the walls littered with designer boards to shelves stocked with shoes and hats, the shop is known for having what customers seek.

With two locations in Honolulu, Kicks/HI has been featured in over 17 print magazines and about 18 online magazines, promoting their exclusive line of sneakers and cutting edge apparel. Laces NYC has become the premier sneaker boutique for trendy ladies in the New York City area. A little over a year old, the boutique has carved a unique niche in the game, reserving freshness for the ladies. It doesn’t hurt that the owner, Louis Colon III is also the publisher for Kicksclusive Magazine. Not only do they sell kicks, but they also have shoe laces, and are the only boutique selling the ever popular, “Juicy Mama,” nail polish, which comes in a tiny mock sneaker box.
